The 419th Flight Test Squadron is the bomber element of the 412th Test Wing, at Edwards AFB, California. The 419th operates and maintains: The B-1B, B-2A, B-52H and C-12 platforms. These programs provide test and evaluation capabilities in support of current and future weapon systems, forging war-winning combat capabilities for our nation’s warfighters.
The B-52 Stratofortress is a long-range, subsonic, jet-powered strategic bomber. It has been operated by the United States Air Force (USAF) since the 1950s. The bomber is capable of carrying up to 70,000 pounds (32,000 kg) of weapons, and has a typical combat range of more than 8,800 miles (14,080 km) without aerial refueling.
