Thule Air Base, Greenland
Thule Air Base or Thule Air Base/Pituffik Airport, is the United States Air Force’s northernmost base, located 1750 mi north of the Arctic Circle and 947 mi from the North Pole on the northwest side of the island of Greenland. It is approximately 550 mi east of the North Magnetic Pole.
The B-52 ‘Stratofortress‘ is a long-range, subsonic, jet-powered strategic bomber. The B-52 was designed and built by Boeing, which has continued to provide support and upgrades. It has been operated by the United States Air Force (USAF) since the 1950s.
