USF is one of approximately 50 colleges/universities in the nation to host all three ROTC programs – Army, Naval and Air Force. The University of South Florida (USF), though a relatively young university, founded in 1956, has rich traditions – traditions of access and opportunity for students, of academic excellence, and of groundbreaking research. USF is situated in the vibrant and diverse Tampa Bay region, with campuses in Tampa, St. Petersburg and Sarasota-Manatee. Detachment 158 serves multiple crosstown colleges and universities as well. Det 158 offers a challenging in-college program to develop quality leaders for the U.S. Air Force, with graduates commissioning as 2nd Lieutenants who will go on to serve in a variety of career fields.
