The 34th Weapons Squadron (34th WPS) is home to the USAF Combat Search and Rescue (CSAR) Weapons Instructor Course (WIC). The Squadron operates both the HH-60G Pavehawk and the HC-130J Combat King II. We are stationed at Nellis AFB and train to both a permissive counter-insurgency rescue mission, and (primarily) to the highly dynamic and challenging major combat operations CSAR environment to provide Rescue Weapons Officers that are prepared to employ as individual weapons system, as part of a small CSAR Task Force (CSARTF) or in a fully integrated combat air forces (CAF) enabled CSAR mission. Our rescue motto is “That Others May Live” and our Squadron motto is “Best Job I Ever Had”.
