Jet Black 8th Fighter Squadron Super Wide Canvas Print with Floating Black Gallery Frame.

The 8th Fighter Squadron (8 FS) is a part of the 54th Fighter Group assigned to Holloman Air Force Base, New Mexico whose lineage dates back to 1940. The squadron has fought in the Pacific during World War II using the P-38, P-40, and P-47. The 8th was designated “The Black Sheep” as they were the last squadron to be upgraded from the war weary P-40E. The squadron continued its combat lineage to being the first Air Force squadron to deploy to the Korean War. It also participated in the deterrence mission during the Cold War in Europe, the Gulf War, Operation Allied Force, and Operation Enduring Freedom. The squadron has been flying the Viper since August 2017 training the future of United States’ combat Air Forces. Holloman AFB lies just outside Alamogordo NM.
