Fort Hood 504th Military Intelligence Brigade

Fort Hood 504th Military Intelligence Brigade vintage style poster art.

The U.S. Army’s 504th Military Intelligence Brigade supports the III Armored Corps and combatant commanders with multidisciplinary intelligence collection, analysis and dissemination. The brigade is based at Fort Hood, Texas, and is comprised of the 163rd and 303rd Military Intelligence Battalions, and a brigade headquarters company.

Fort Hood is located in central Texas, one hour north of Austin, and two hours south of Dallas. The brigade is celebrating its 75th Anniversary in 2017, after being founded as the 137th Signal Radio Intelligence Company, Aviation, in February 1942. The brigade has earned one Valorous Unit Award and five Meritorious Unit Commendations for service in WWII and Iraq. Additionally, the battalions/brigade have served in Korea, Vietnam, Kosovo and Afghanistan. The 504th’s motto is “Always Ready!”

Much of the III Corps’ power comes through the M1A1 Abrams tank, Bradley Fighting Vehicles and Paladin artillery, and the terrain at Fort Hood is hilly with vegetation and two major lakes nearby.
