The 90th Fighter Squadron started as the 90th Aero Squadron in WWI when it was established in 1917. It is currently housed in the Pacific Air Force’s 3rd Wing at Elmendorf AFB in Anchorage, Alaska flying the F-22 Raptor. Daily training flights include views of Denali, glaciers, Prince William Sound, and volcanoes. The 90th also defends the Alaskan ADIZ from Russian long range aviation routinely intercepting Russian fighters and bombers north of the arctic circle.
