Detachment 442 is an Air Force ROTC detachment at Missouri University of Science & Technology in scenic Rolla, MO. The Air Force Reserve Officers’ Training Corps mission is to develop quality leaders for the Air Force. Cadets at balance both college and military training. Det 442 is in the North West Region of AFROTC and is less than 150 miles from both Scott AFB and Whiteman AFB.

Students who complete AFROTC program are awarded a commission as a 2nd LT in the US Air Force after earning a college degree. Cadets learn valuable leadership styles and skills that aid in developing quality Air Force leaders. Detachment 442 is also known as the “Flying Miners”!
