The Battlefield Airmen Training Group (BA TG) is responsible for all initial training for Air Force Combat Control (CCT), Pararescue (PJ), Special Operations Weather (SOWT), Tactical Air Control Party (TACP), Special Tactics Officer (STO), Combat Rescue Officer (CRO), and Air Liaison Officer (ALO). The mission of BA TG is to: “Forge Battlefield Airmen”. Select, train, and mentor Airmen for global combat operations. Breed quiet professionals, infused with a warrior ethos, fueled by scholarship and innovation. Battlefield Airmen have an amazing legacy of valor and excellence. They have been recognized for valor in combat more than any other Air Force specialty since Vietnam. The unit’s motto is: “Si vis pacem, para bellum” translated as: “If you want peace, prepare for war!”
