Abilene Dyess C-130J 317 OSS
The 317th Operations Support Squadron (317 OSS) supports the 317th Airlift Wing (317 AW) at Dyess AFB, TX. The 317 OSS supports global C-130J airlift and airdrop operations, with a focus on SOUTHCOM, AFRICOM, and CENTCOM theaters. Dyess is three hours from Dallas and the OSS regularly supports training sorties across West Texas and exercises across the country. The Squadron motto is “Carry the Fight”! (see more below)

The C-130J Super Hercules is a four-engine turboprop military transport aircraft. The C-130J is a comprehensive update of the C-130 Hercules, with new engines, flight deck, and other systems. As of February 2018, 400 C-130J aircraft have been delivered to 17 nations.
