The 20th Bomb Squadron is a unit of the 2d Operations Group of the United States Air Force located at Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana. The 20th is currently equipped with the Boeing B-52H Stratofortress. The 20th Bomb Squadron operated the B-52F from 1963 to 1969. (This artwork is Heritage Art depicting the B-52F variant).
The B-52 Stratofortress is a long-range, subsonic, jet-powered strategic bomber. It has been operated by the United States Air Force (USAF) since the 1950s. The bomber is capable of carrying up to 70,000 pounds (32,000 kg) of weapons, and has a typical combat range of more than 8,800 miles (14,080 km) without aerial refueling.
