This artwork is dedicated to all the men and women of Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron Five Zero (HSM-50) “Valkyries”. The HSM-50 Valkyries is a newly established squadron located on NS Mayport, FL under Commander, Helicopter Maritime Strike Wing Atlantic. They are an expeditionary squadron that operates the MH-60R Seahawk supporting the United States Navy maritime operations deploying on multiple variants of air-capable surface ships. They are the newest squadron in the HSM community.

Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron Five Zero (HSM-50) “VALKYRIES” is a United States Navy helicopter squadron based at Adm David L. McDonald Field, Naval Station Mayport, Mayport, Florida. The squadron will be under the control of Helicopter Maritime Strike Wing Atlantic.
Naval Station Mayport is located 15 miles east of Jacksonville, Florida, at the mouth of the St. Johns River in Duval County.
The MH-60R Seahawk is a multi-mission helicopter manufactured by Sikorsky Aircraft. It is considered to be the world’s most advanced maritime helicopter. The rotorcraft replaces the SH-60B and SH-60F helicopters in the US Navy’s fleet and combines the capabilities of these aircraft. The MH-60R is also referred to as ‘Romeo’.
