Phoenix Arizona 161st MXG poster art

The 161st Maintenance Group (161 MXG) is a sub-unit within the 161st Air Refueling Wing, who’s history began in 1946. It currently operates the KC-135R for the community, state and nation, allowing for the fuel needed for global reach. The unit is located at Sky Harbor International Airport (Goldwater Air National Guard Base) in the center of Phoenix, AZ. The 161 MXG is also known as the “Copperheads” and they take great pride in their refueling mission, especially related to their support of the nuclear mission. With a proud of history and continuing to look at the advancement of the future, the 161st Maintenance Group keeps Eisenhower era aircraft flying to fuel the fight. NKAWTG!!!”
