The 56th Civil Engineer Squadron (56 CES) – also known as the “Dragon slayers” – provide technically sound combat engineers to build, sustain, and protect Luke AFB through engineering and emergency response services. They are organized into six flights consisting of 350 personnel, and support $2B in infrastructure, $4.8B of aircraft, 1,043 facilities, and the 1.7million acre Barry M. Goldwater Range. The Fire & Emergency Services Flight provides first class emergency response services for medical, structural and aircraft to the base populace.
