Operation Christmas Drop 36th Airlift Squadron

Operation Christmas Drop poster Art.

Operation Christmas Drop – US Air Force’s longest running Humanitarian Mission that helps out over 56 islands in the Marianas (Pacific).  They delivered over 41,000 lbs of goods across all of the islands. Operation Christmas Drop is a tradition that serves as a training mission for the U.S. Air Force which started in 1952. For more than 70 years, American Airmen have flown over tiny islands in Micronesia around Christmas, dropping donated goods to help more than 30,000 islanders. It has since become the longest running U.S. DoD mission in full operation, and the longest running humanitarian airlift in the world.

Operation Christmas Drop 2015 video: The first ever trilateral Operation Christmas Drop where the U.S. Air Force, JASDF and the Royal Australian Air Force work together to provide critical supplies to 56 Micronesian islands while executing partner Humanitarian Aid/Disaster Relief training.
