The 56th Operations Group has operational control and responsibility for the entire fighter-training mission at Luke AFB, Arizona and supports F-15C fighter pilot training for the 173d Fighter Wing, Kingsley Field, Oregon, and F-16 pilot training at the 162nd Fighter Wing, Tucson Air National Guard Base, AZ.

As the largest fighter group in the U.S. Air Force, the 56 OG is composed of 7 fighter squadrons of F-35A Lightning II and F-16 Fighting Falcons, an air control squadron, an operations support squadron, a training squadron, a fighter squadron stationed at Kingsley Field, and 1detachment at Tucson ANG Base. The 56 OG builds the future of Air Power by executing world class flying operations, providing elite instruction, and cultivating the air power community for the United States and our allies, 30 minutes away from Phoenix and 2 hours away from the Grand Canyon/Sedona, AZ.
