24th Tactical Air Support Squadron the 24 TASS traces it’s lineage back to the jungles of Vietnam, where early Forward Air Controllers, (Airborne) conducted harrowing combat ops behind enemy lines. We re-activated in March 2018 as a central hub of air-ground integration for the Combat Air Force, specializing in Close Air Support (CAS) to strike threats in close proximity to friendly forces. The 24 TASS “Golden Jaguars” have three key objectives: Train Joint Terminal Attack Controllers (JTACs) and FAC(A)s to control contested battle spaces, Integrate the CAS team across multiple branches and Educate our joint partners on CAS employment. We honor the heritage of our past while leading the way into the future of air-ground operations.
