The 9th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron (9 AMXS) is part of the 9th Reconnaissance Wing at Beale AFB, California. The squadron is responsible for maintenance and upkeep of the U-2 “Dragon Lady”, a Cold War-era reconnaissance jet that operates in the stratosphere, carrying a lone pilot 70,000 feet above the earth’s surface. 65 years into its career, the jet continues to play a key role in global intelligence collection.
