The 22d Airlift Squadron (22d AS), is part of the 60th Air Mobility Wing at Travis Air Force Base, California. It operates Lockheed Martin’s C-5M Super Galaxy aircraft supporting the United States Air Force global reach mission worldwide. The mission is to provide services and support, which promote quality of life and project global power through combat-proven airlift. The base is located along I-80 between San Francisco and Sacramento. Napa Valley directly is 30 minutes and Lake Tahoe about 2 hours northeast. The 22d AS is also known worldwide as “The Mulies” or “The Double Deuce”!
