Travis AFB 70th ARS KC-10

Travis AFB 70th ARS KC-10 poster art.

The 70th Air Refueling Squadron (70th ARS) is an Air Force Reserve Squadron and part of the 349th Air Mobility Wing at Travis Air Force Base, California. It operates the KC-10A Extender supporting the United States Air Force’s world wide aerial refueling missions. The squadron’s motto is “Extending Excellence” and is known all over the world by their call sign of “Orca.” The 70th has been providing fully qualified aircrews for worldwide missions since 1942, and is able to stand up as a fully activated squadron with less than 72 hours of notice. The squadron supports the President, Department of Defense, and Coalition Forces during wartime, contingency, cargo, humanitarian, and aerial refueling operations. Travis is located one hour north of beautiful San Francisco, and only three hours west of scenic Lake Tahoe.
