NOAA AOC, Twin Otter

NOAA AOC, Twin Otter Poster Art.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Aircraft Operations Center (AOC) is most well know for the WP-3D Orion and G-IV “Hurricane Hunter” aircraft. What many do not know is the NOAA AOC also operates a King Air 350CER, a Jet Prop Commander 1000, and the aircraft featured on this poster, the mighty DHC-6 Twin Otter. The four Twin Otters are the workhorse of the fleet accomplishing missions such as marine mammal surveys, air chemistry flights, snow survey, coastal mapping and many more. Our motto is “Low Slow and Good to Go”.  We are based at MacDill AFB, in Tampa FLThe de Havilland Canada DHC-6 Twin Otter is a Canadian 19-passenger STOL (Short Takeoff and Landing) utility aircraft developed by de Havilland Canada and currently produced by Viking Air. The aircraft’s fixed tricycle undercarriage, STOL abilities and high rate of climb have made it a successful cargo, regional passenger airliner and MEDEVAC aircraft.  Learn more about NOAA: Here.
