Known as “The Fleet’s First and Finest”, Air Test and Evaluation Squadron ONE (VX-1) conducts Operational Test and Evaluation (OT&E) of US Naval aircraft as directed by Commander, Naval Air Forces Atlantic (COMNAVAIRLANT) and Commander, Operational Test and Evaluation Force (COMOPTEVFOR). VX-1 owns, operates, and conducts OT&E for E-2D Advanced Hawkeye, P-8A Poseidon, MH-60R/S Seahawk, MQ-4C Triton, and MQ-8C Fire Scout and conducts OT&E for CMV-22B Osprey, MQ-25A Stingray, KC-130J/T Hercules, and E-6B Mercury. VX-1 is located at NAS Patuxent River, MD, in southern Maryland approximately 1.5 hours south of Washington DC.
