These specialized airmen are responsible for repairing, modifying, and custom-fabricating critical metal parts for aircraft and ground equipment. They work extensively with advanced materials like aluminum, titanium, and stainless steel using TIG, MIG, and stick welding. U.S. Air Force welders in <strong>construction</strong> are primarily working as <strong>Structural Maintenance Specialists</strong> (<strong>AFSC 3E3X1) </strong>and are responsible for building, repairing, and maintaining military infrastructure. For more than <strong>sixty three years</strong> the squadron’s motto has been <em><strong>"The Best Helicopter Pilots in the World are Trained Here."</strong></em> Its mission is to provide primary and advanced helicopter training for <strong>United States Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard,</strong> and <strong>Allied</strong> Student Naval Aviators selected for rotary-wing designation. The squadron's mission is Advanced Helicopter Training. <p><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="color: #000000;">The <strong>303rd Combat <span style="font-size: 14.4px;">Battalion</span> <span style="font-size: 14.4px;">Maintenance</span> Unit</strong> is a </span><strong>Seabee</strong> unit that builds and maintains expeditionary base camps for higher headquarters command elements, they build and maintain expeditionary medical facilities (EMF). Seabees also load ships and planes with Seabee equipment for major combat operations. They primarily operate throughout the Pacific and its many islands.     </span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">The Construction Battalion Maintenance Unit THREE ZERO THREE (CBMU 303) is a shore-based Echelon V command within the Navy Expeditionary Combat Force aligned with the West Coast Seabees under Naval Construction Group 1. They are an integrated active and Reserve unit homeported in beautiful San Diego with an active duty detachment in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii and Reserve detachments in San Diego, Port Hueneme, California, and Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. </span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">Their primary mission during major combat operations is to provide minor camp construction and base operating support for Navy Expeditionary Force higher headquarter command elements and Expeditionary Medical Facilities, and to provide embarkation support to Naval Construction Force movement control centers.  As a secondary mission, they provide humanitarian assistance/disaster relief support to various Navy region commanders when executing Defense Support of Civil Authority</span></p>

<p><span style="color: #000000;">The <b>P-38 Lightning</b> is a World War II-era American piston-engine fighter aircraft. Developed for the United States Army Air Corps, the P-38 had distinctive twin booms and a central nacelle containing the cockpit and armament. Allied propaganda claimed it had been nicknamed the fork-tailed devil by the Luftwaffe and "two planes, one pilot" by the Japanese.<sup id="cite_ref-6" class="reference"></sup> The P-38 was used for interception, dive bombing, level bombing, ground attack, night fighting, photo reconnaissance, radar and visual path finding for bombers and evacuation missions, <sup id="cite_ref-USAF_Museum_7-0" class="reference"></sup>and extensively as a long-range escort fighter when equipped with drop tanks under its wings.</span></p>

<p><span style="color: #000000;">The<b> F4U Corsair</b> is an American fighter aircraft that saw service primarily in World War II and the Korean War. The Corsair was designed as a carrier-based aircraft, but it came to and retained prominence in its area of greatest deployment: land based use by the U.S. Marines.<sup id="cite_ref-6" class="reference"></sup>  <sup id="cite_ref-7" class="reference"></sup>The Corsair also served in the U.S. Navy. When the Corsair entered service in large numbers with the U.S. Navy in late 1944 and early 1945, it quickly became one of the most capable carrier-based fighter-bombers of World War II.<sup id="cite_ref-10" class="reference"></sup> The Corsair served almost exclusively as a fighter-bomber throughout the Korean War and during the French colonial wars in Indochina and Algeria.</span><sup id="cite_ref-11" class="reference"></sup></p>
