CeCe Moore has revolutionized the field of forensic science and criminal investigation through her innovative work in genetic genealogy. As Chief Genetic Genealogist at Parabon NanoLabs, Ms. Moore has been instrumental in identifying suspects and victims in hundreds of violent crime and cold cases, many of which had remained unsolved for decades. Her groundbreaking approach—merging DNA analysis with traditional genealogical research—has not only brought resolution to grieving families but has also advanced public safety in unprecedented ways.

Her murder was one of the oldest cold cases in our nation (over half a century) and it never would have been resolved without the dedication and determination of CeCe Moore. My sister Nancy came from a family of ten children and all of Nancy’s siblings are still alive, fifty years later, to see justice served thanks to CeCe. -

Her work on the show The Genetic Detective has illuminated the power of science to serve truth and justice, inspiring future generations to pursue careers in genetics, law enforcement, and public service. CeCe Moore’s contributions exemplify the spirit of the Presidential Medal of Freedom: service to others, innovation in science, and the strengthening of the nation's moral fabric.
