<p><span style="color: #000000;"><b>Misawa Air Base</b> (<span lang="ja" title="Japanese language text">三沢飛行場</span>, <i lang="ja-Latn" title="Hepburn transliteration">Misawa Hikōjō</i>) (IATA: <b>MSJ</b>, ICAO: <b>RJSM</b>) is an air base of the Japan Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF) and the United States Air Force located in Misawa, Aomori, in the northern part of the island of Honshū of Japan. It is located 3 Nautical Miles (5.6 km; 3.5 mi) northeast of Misawa railway station,<sup id="cite_ref-AIP_1-1" class="reference"></sup> 3 mi (4.8 km) west of the Pacific Ocean, 10 mi (16 km) northeast of Towada, 18 mi (29 km) northwest of Hachinohe, and 425 mi (684 km) north of Tokyo. It is a Pacific Air Forces (PACAF) facility with the 35th Fighter Wing (35 FW, about 48 F-16 aircraft split among the 13th and 14th Fighter Squadrons) <sup id="cite_ref-2" class="reference"></sup>as its host wing. It hosts both Japanese and American troops.</span></p>

Provides combat-ready support for airfield management, weather forecasting, current operations, space tactics, intelligence, weapons and tactics, advanced programs, operational plans, standardization/evaluation, and flight simulator training. <b>Misawa Air Base</b> is a U.S. military facility located in the <strong>Tōhoku region</strong> in the northern part of the island of <strong>Honshū</strong> of <strong>Japan</strong>.
