<p><span style="color: #000000;"><strong>Whidbey Island</strong> <b>Naval Air Station </b>is about 30 miles north of Seattle, and lies between the Olympic Peninsula and the I-5 corridor of western Washington State. The island forms the northern boundary of Puget Sound and is home to <strong>Naval Air Station Whidbey Island</strong>. Whidbey Island is home to 58,211 residents (according to the 2000 census). An estimated 29,000 of Whidbey Island residents live in rural locations. Artwork features a "P-8 Poseidon aircraft", a "Los Angeles-class  submarine", as well as "Deception Pass Bridge" that connects Whidbey Island to Fidalgo Island and is a a commonly photographed landmark of the Puget Sound region.</span></p>

<p><span style="color: #000000;">This vintage style military naval travel poster <strong>“Norfolk Virginia USS Scranton (SSN-756) Silver”</strong> is dedicated to all the <strong>enlisted personnel</strong> who served on the <strong>USS <strong>Scranton</strong></strong>. <b>USS <i>Scranton</i> (SSN-756)</b>, a <strong><i>Los Angeles</i>-class submarine</strong>, is the second ship of the <strong>United States Navy</strong> to be named for <strong>Scranton, Pennsylvania</strong>. She was launched on 3 July 1989 and was the first submarine at Newport News to be built via <em><strong>"modular construction"</strong></em>. No keel was laid. In this method, the ship was almost fully built out in individual hull sections. In January 2006, <strong><i>Scranton</i> </strong>successfully demonstrated "homing and docking of an AN/BLQ-11 Long-Term Mine Reconnaissance System (LMRS) unmanned undersea vehicle (UUV) system" during at-sea testing. <strong>NS Norfolk</strong>, also known as the<strong> Norfolk Naval Base</strong>, occupies about four miles of waterfront space and seven miles of pier and wharf space of the <strong>Hampton Roads peninsula</strong> known as <em><strong>"Sewell's Point" </strong></em>and is the <em><strong>world's largest naval station</strong></em>.</span></p>

<p><span style="color: #000000;"><b>USS <i>Providence</i> (SSN-719)</b>, a <strong><i>Los Angeles</i>-class submarine</strong>, is the fifth ship of the <strong>United States Navy</strong> to be named for <strong>Providence, Rhode Island</strong>. The contract to build her was awarded to the Electric Boat Division of General Dynamics Corporation in Groton, Connecticut on 16 April 1979 and her keel was laid down on 14 October 1982. She was launched on 4 August 1984 sponsored by Mrs. William F. Smith, and commissioned on 27 July 1985, with Captain E. Morrow in command. <i>Providence</i> is the first <i>Los Angeles</i> class submarine to be equipped with the Tomahawk missile Vertical Launch System (VLS). While others used test boxes and programs, Providence was the first submarine to launch a Tomahawk cruise missile from the VLS system using its combat system CCS MK1 and associated software C4.1. The submarine is currently active and assigned to <strong>Submarine Development Squadron 12</strong> at <strong>US Naval Submarine Base New London, Groton, Connecticut</strong>.</span></p>

<p><span style="color: #000000;"><b>Apra Harbor</b> is a deep-water port on the western side of the United States territory of <strong>Guam</strong>. The harbor is formed by Orote Peninsula in the south and Cabras Island in the north. To the south, the harbor narrows and then widens again to form an inner harbor. The southern end of the harbor is the location of <strong>Naval Base Guam,</strong> a strategic U.S. naval base located on Apra Harbor. It is part of Joint Region Marianas, which is a Naval-controlled installation which was combined with <strong>Andersen Air Force Base</strong> in 2009. Naval Base Guam is home of Commander Submarine Squadron 15, Coast Guard Sector Guam and Naval Special Warfare Unit One and supports 28 other tenant commands. It is the home base to dozens of Pacific Command, United States Pacific Fleet, Seventh Fleet, and other units.</span></p>
