The 435th Air and Space Communications Group is located at Ramstein Air Base, Germany. It is composed of 547 Airmen in three diverse squadrons providing United States Air Forces in Europe’s only combat communications, specialized maintenance, and command, control, communications, computer, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance systems support for the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, United States European Command, and United States Africa Command.The group is responsible for combat readiness of theater deployable communications assets valued at $150 million; operations and maintenance of the theater’s Joint Worldwide Intelligence Communications System, Global Command and Control System and Unit Level Bridge to Unit Command and Control System as well as intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance networks serving 2,200 users at 22 operating locations; and specialized maintenance of communications systems valued at $10 billion across the command’s 104-country Area of Responsibility.

The 435th Contingency Response Squadron is a part of the 435th Air Ground Operations Wing, a tenant wing at Ramstein Air Base, Germany. It is United States Air Forces in Europe’s sole rapid airbase opening capability – enabling airborne assessment teams, landing zone control teams, C2, mobile aerial port operations, and rapid throughput aircraft maintenance supporting all AMC aircraft (C-130/C-5/C-17). Germany is host to some of the most beautiful and well known castles in the world. The Squadron’s motto is “To Dare Mighty Things!”.
