<p><span style="color: #000000;">The <b><span style="color: #000000;">25th Fighter</span> Squadron</b> is part of the 51st Fighter Wing at <strong>Osan Air Base, South Korea</strong>. It operates the <b>A-10 “<i>Thunderbolt II</i>”</b> aircraft conducting close air support missions. The 25th Fighter Squadron was originally created as the 25th Pursuit Squadron and activated at Hamilton Field, California, on 15 January 1941. By March it was assigned to the 51st Pursuit Group at March Field, California. In July the squadron received P-40 Warhawk aircraft. <b>Osan Air Base</b>, is a United States Air Force facility located near Songtan Station in the city of <b>Pyeongtaek</b><b>, </b><b>South Korea</b>, 64 km (40 mi) south of Seoul. Osan Air Base is also the departure and arrival point for U.S. government-contracted ‘<b><i>Patriot Express</i></b>‘ flights bringing servicemembers and their family members to <b>South Korea</b>.</span></p>

It is stationed at Beale Air Force Base, California. The wing is also the host unit at Beale. Its mission is to organize, train and equip the Air Force's fleet of U-2R Dragon Lady, RQ-4 Global Hawk, and MC-12 Liberty aircraft for peacetime intelligence gathering, contingency operations, conventional war fighting and Emergency War Order support. It is also assigned T-38 Talons for U-2 pilots to maintain flight hours due to limited U-2 aircraft.</span></p>
