The Model 100 P-12 NC873H, first introduced in 1928, was celebrated as a sleek and high-performance single-seater aircraft. Powered by the powerful 9-cylinder Pratt & Whitney "Wasp" 450 hp engine, this aircraft became a well-loved icon of military aviation during the late 1920s and 1930s. It served as both a commercial and military aircraft, with notable versions like the Navy’s F4B and Army’s P-12 fighters. NC873H, originally a factory demonstrator, later found fame as part of Hollywood stunt-pilot Paul Mantz’s collection. During WWII, the Civil Air Patrol flew this aircraft with the Michigan Wing, and today it remains a beautifully restored piece of history at The Museum of Flight in Seattle.

The Aero Commander L-26, a special version of the U-4B, holds a significant place in aviation history as the “smallest Air Force One.” Tail number 55-4647 was used by President Dwight D. Eisenhower from 1956 to 1961. Known for its robust design and reliable performance, the L-26 was the first Air Force One with only two engines and the first to carry the now iconic blue and white paint scheme. Eisenhower, a pilot himself, would often take the controls during trips between Washington, D.C., and his farm in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. This artwork pays tribute to the legacy of the L-26, celebrating its contribution to presidential history and aviation. With sleek lines and a distinct presence, this piece captures the spirit of an aircraft that served with distinction.
