The 36th Airlift Squadron supports tactical Airlift operations in the Pacific operating out of Yokota AB Japan. Yokota is located on the outskirts of Tokyo in the Town of Fussa. We are the Eagle Airlifters and perform airdrop operations at the base of Mt. Fuji. One of the squadrons favorite times of the year is cherry blossom season.

Yokota Air Base is a United States Air Force base in the city of Fussa, one of 26 cities in the Tama Area, or Western Tokyo. The base houses 14,000 personnel.  Among its facilities are the broadcast center for the American Forces Network Tokyo radio service and a detachment of Pacific Air Forces' Band of the Pacific and the headquarters of United States Forces Japan. The host unit at Yokota is the 374th Airlift Wing and is currently used for airlift missions throughout East Asia. The 374th includes four groups: operations, mission support, maintenance and medical. Each group manages a various number of squadrons in order to carry out the wing's mission.

The 374th Operations Group is part of the 374th Airlift Wing at Yokota Air Base, Japan.  The 374th Operations Group maintains combat readiness of three operational squadrons, consisting of C-130H, C-12J, and UH-1N aircraft, and provides intra-theater airlift,  aeromedical evacuation and VIP transport throughout the Asia-Pacific region.

The 730th Air Mobility Squadron is a unit of the 715th Air mobility Operations Group, based at Hickam AFB, HI. Prior to being activated as the 730th AMS, the squadron was designated as the 630th Air Mobility Support Squadron[AMSS]. The change in designation became effective on March 15, 2001, when the 630th AMSS was inactivated and the 730th AMS activated at Yokota AB. The change was enacted to better reflect the role of the unit as more operational than support oriented. Six years previous to the unit's inactivation, the 630th AMSS provided fixed, deployed command and control, aerial port, and maintenance required for the United States' Global Reach in the western Pacific. The squadron is part of AMC's enroute system to provide fixed and deployed maintenance, aerial port and command and control support to deployed AMC forces. The 374th Airlift Wing is the only airlift wing in PACAF and provides airlift support to all DoD agencies in the Pacific theater of operation. It also provides transport for people and equipment throughout the Kanto Plain and the Tokyo metropolitan area.

The Wing participates in operations involving air, land and airdrop of troops, equipment, supplies, and support or augment special operations forces, when appropriate. It fields a provisional airlift wing or group headquarters (when required) to command airlift resources as units in support of contingencies or exercises. It also supports assigned, attached, and associate units on Yokota Air Base and satellite installations according to higher headquarters' direction. The 374th Airlift Wing has never been stationed in the United States.

I made this poster for my buddy Chance Hansen, he was my roommate during college, pilot training, and one of my groomsmen. You can see a pic of us in the gallery at Chance's wedding, 'cheers' Chance. This C-130 poster is dedicated to the hard working men and women of the 36th Airlift Squadron "Eagle Airlifters", 374th Operations Group, 374th Airlift Wing, stationed at Yokota Air Base, Japan.
