The McDonnell Douglas (now Boeing) F-15E Strike Eagle is an American all-weather multirole strike fighter, derived from the McDonnell Douglas F-15 Eagle. The F-15E was designed in the 1980s for long-range, high speed interdiction without relying on escort or electronic-warfare aircraft. United States Air Force (USAF) F-15E Strike Eagles can be distinguished from other U.S. Eagle variants by darker aircraft camouflage and conformal fuel tanks mounted along the engine intake ramps.

The 65th Special Operations Squadron is a brand-new (Dec ‘18) AFSOC MQ-9 Squadron, supporting Special Operations in several theaters of combat worldwide. They are stationed at Hurlburt Field, and fly with the 2 SOS. Hurlburt Field is on the Emerald Coast of Florida, in Fort Walton Beach. The squadron has two Medal of Honor Winners from the old WWII B-17 Squadron (Zeamer and Sarnoski–worth the google). Their nickname (back to WWII) is the “Lucky Dicers” and now go by “Dicers”. Their motto is “Scientiam Fortuna Iuvat”, which loosely translates as “The Odds Favor the Smart,” to play to the dice motif.

The 94th Fighter Squadron is part of the 1st Fighter Wing based out of Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia. Established in 1917, it is one of the most decorated fighter squadrons in America’s history. Under the command of Lafayette Escadrille ace, Raoul Lufbery, the 94th threw America’s “hat in the ring” as the first American unit at the front during World War I. The 94th is credited with 70 aerial victories during WWI, including 26 kills from famous “Ace of aces” Eddie Rickenbacker. Having flown Nieuport 28 and SPAD XIII into combat, the 94th was nicknamed the “SPADs”. Today, the 94th FS continues the legacy of aerial domination in the F-22 Raptor. The squadron recently was the first F-22 squadron to employ Small Diameter Bombs in combat while eliminating ISIS. The squadron is proud of its history and always ready to throw its “Hat in the Ring” of the fight!

Camp Pendleton VMM-364 ”Purple Foxes” canvas art.

VMM-364 ”Purple Foxes” is a medium lift tiltrotor squadron (MV-22B) that is based out of Camp Pendleton, CA. They are 30 minutes from sunny San Diego and are known for beautiful beaches and world class surfing along with a more laid surf town vibe than downtown SD. The flights along the coast are breathtaking, very humbling, and are proof that they live on the “best coast.” The Purple Foxes were born in 1961 and have a long and distinguished history in Vietnam as well as operations in Iraq and Syria.

As Marines were isolated, surrounded, and under siege on the top of Hill 861 during the Battle of KheSahnno no one could get in to resupply or evacuate the Marines on top of the hill due to withering and effective machine gun and sniper fire. It was declared too hot of an LZ to fly into and for days the Marines fought, died, and ran low on supplies without aid until the Purple Foxes flew through the clouds at tree-top level to come to their aid. “We thought you fly boys didn’t give a shit about us!” was the greeting from one of the besieged Marines to which a 364 crew chief responded very simply “We Give A Shit!” - That statement became the squadron motto which is said daily, loudly, and proudly, and is central to the ethos of the squadron. This motto is not the squadron being crass, but rather showing a deep respect to their rich and valiant history with this phrase. From their unique color scheme, their mascot Swifty, to the hard nosed attack helicopters they share the flight line with, the squadron has much to take pride in!

The General Atomics MQ-9 Reaper (formerly named Predator B) is an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) capable of remote controlled or autonomous flight operations, developed by General Atomics Aeronautical Systems (GA-ASI) primarily for the United States Air Force (USAF). The MQ-9 and other UAVs are referred to as Remotely Piloted Vehicles/Aircraft (RPV/RPA) by the USAF to indicate their human ground controllers. The MQ-9 is the first hunter-killer UAV designed for long-endurance, high-altitude surveillance. In 2006, the then–Chief of Staff of the United States Air Force General T. Michael Moseley said: “We’ve moved from using UAVs primarily in intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance roles before Operation Iraqi Freedom, to a true hunter-killer role with the Reaper.
