<p><span style="color: #000000;">This poster is dedicated to the men and women who support <strong><span style="color: #0000ff;">Operation DEEP FREEZE</span> </strong>at <strong>McMurdo Station Antarctica. </strong> The scene depicts the elements that make up the McMurdo experience and the support provided to the Scientist on the base, with the Antarctic Fire Department rigs as well as the Penguins and Seals that drive the science mission that the <strong>C-17</strong>’s support.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">The U.S. civilian and scientific operations on the Antarctic continent are overseen by the <strong>U.S. Antarctic Program</strong> as well as the <strong>National Science Foundation</strong>. Military support missions are conducted during the Antarctic summer by the <strong>304th Expeditionary Airlift Squadron</strong>’s C-17 Globemaster III and the <strong>139th Expeditionary Airlift Squadron</strong>’s LC-130 Hercules (New York Air National Guard). They are augmented by the U.S. Coast Guard icebreakers, the Air Force Materiel Command, and the Military Sealift Command.</span></p>

					<description><![CDATA[<p><span style="color: #000000;"><span id="'yui_3_13_0_1_1384316306734_1888'">This "<strong>816th Expeditionary Airlift Squadron C-17</strong>" canvas </span>is dedicated to all the hard working people stationed at <strong>Al<span style="color: #000000;"> Udeid Air Base</span></strong>, <strong>Qatar.</strong></span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">The <b>816th Expeditionary Airlift Squadron (816 EAS)</b> is a provisional <strong>United States Air Force</strong> unit. It is assigned to the 385th Air Expeditionary Group, stationed at Al <strong>Udeid Air Base, Doha Qatar</strong>. The <strong>816 EAS</strong> is equipped with <strong>C-17 Globemaster III</strong> transports and supports Coalition forces engaging in combat operations as part of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom, and also operates in the Horn of Africa.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">The mission of the <strong>816th EAS</strong> is to provide global strategic airlift, airdrop, aeromedical evacuation and humanitarian relief, to create an air bridge for personnel, equipment and supplies throughout their assigned areas of responsibility. During a recent deployment of personnel. the aircrews flew about 3,000 sorties in the <strong>C-17 Globemaster III</strong>, logged more than 8,000 flying hours and airlifted more than 148 million pounds of cargo and more than 37,000 airmen, soldiers, sailors, marines and distinguished visitors throughout Southwest Asia.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><b>Al Udeid Air Base</b> is a military base west of Doha, <strong>Qatar</strong>, also known as <b>Abu Nakhlah Airport</b>. It houses foreign coalition personnel and assets. It is host to a forward headquarters of United States Central Command, headquarters of United States Air Forces Central, No. 83 Expeditionary Air Group RAF, and the <strong>379th Air Expeditionary Wing</strong> of the USAF.</span></p>
