Visualize your Flight Log with this C-17 Colorable Infographic:

Hours: Each Panel on the C-17 represents 1 hour of flight time. As you fly more you can use any standard markers to fill the C-17 in. We recommend these.

Dollar Ride and Last Flight Date Placards

Locations

First, pick four colors to fill out the legend. You need a color for: Stationed, Deployed, TDY, and Vacations.

Color in each country as you visit, this is a cool time to get the family involved and share the story. If you have kids it's a good way to help them learn the globe.

We elected to use an election-tracking-style state map for the U.S. so the Northeast is a little bigger than normal but this design gives you room to color the small states like New England.

Been to all Continents? We created a 7 slice ring on the left of the map to start logging each continent. Once you get all of them, congrats, you're apart of the rare 7 continents club!

Achievements: Color the bullet points mark achievements.

Tactical Descent - You're crazy, you've put the throttles in reverse in flight

Assault Landing - You've landed the monster machine on a postage stamp

Taxi Backwards - Beep Beep

Ocean Crossing - Get to the Equal Time Point and you're finishing this

Combat Sortie - Downrange sortie, hopefully logged some NVG time

Green Flag - Rage with the Army

Formation - Ocean crossings with SLOP offsets don't count...

Airshow - Hopefully not just a static display, but hey log it anyway.

HALO drop - Put on your O2

CAPSTONE mission - the good deal flying GOs to airfields in the far corners of the world

Dirt Field Landing - Let the dust settle then log this one

Around the World Trip - It's faster if you fly against the Earth's rotation. Science. /s

Last one's just for fun...Track Tail Flashes Flown: when you're out in the wild you may step to other unit's aircraft even if you're not a part of that base or squadron, track each tail you've flown by coloring in the design based on that unit.

Hanging Device Included: No need to buy a frame, this comes with two black wooden slats. One slides into the top of the canvas and has a leather string to hang it from. The second wooden slat slides onto the bottom to provide weight and keep the canvas straight against the wall. These are similar to how ancient scrolls worked, you can take it down and roll it up for safe keeping or moving it to the table to update it.

Personalize: We'll print this poster with 1 line of Personalized Text at the top. Type it in the field and click "preview text" to see what it looks like. We recommend something like "Smith Travel Map" or "Johnson Travels" or "Mike's Graphic Flight Log". We'd recommend avoiding rank so it'll stay in style when you promote. The add to cart button will be available after you preview the text to ensure you're satisfied with how it looks.

Charleston C-17 16th Airlift Squadron poster art.

The 16th Airlift Squadron (16AS) is part of the 437th Air Mobility Wing at Joint Base Charleston, South Carolina. It operates the C-17A Globemaster III supporting the USAF global reach mission world wide. The squadron name is the “Lions”. The 16AS was the original SOLLII squadron.

Joint Base Charleston is a United States military facility located partly in the City of North Charleston, South Carolina and partly in the City of Goose Creek, South Carolina . The facility is under the jurisdiction of the United States Air Force 628th Air Base Wing, Air Mobility Command (AMC).

The C-17 Globemaster III is a large military transport aircraft. It was developed for the United States Air Force from the 1980s to the early 1990s. The C-17 carries forward the name of two previous piston-engined military cargo aircraft, the C-74 Globemaster and the C-124 Globemaster II. The C-17 commonly performs tactical and strategic airlift missions, transporting troops and cargo throughout the world; additional roles include medical evacuation and airdrop duties. It was designed to replace the C-141 Starlifter, and also fulfill some of the duties of the C-5 Galaxy, freeing the C-5 fleet for outsize cargo.

Charleston AFB C-17 Special Operations Low Level (SOLL II) poster art.

SOLL II Aircrew out of Charleston, SC are experts in flying special forces on night vision goggles into and out of combat zones on C-17s. They fly low level routes below radar or can fly high, secretly letting spec ops jump HALO (high altitude - low opening) and drift silently into the bad guy's backyard. Thank you SOLL II Loadmasters and Pilots for Delivering The Sting! Shortly after September 11, 2001 and the U.S. War on global terrorism, a strategic and tactical change in the use of airlift forces was realized in implementing the full potential capabilities of the newest USAF airlifter, the C-17A Globemaster III. With this an elite unit within AMC's airlift forces, the SOLL II C-17A's at Charleston AFB provide the outstanding results that combat commanders need.

The first-ever C-17 combat landing using night vision goggles occurred in November 2001. The sortie was one of 64 flown by five aircrews from Charleston Air Force Base, S.C., during a period of eight days in which they landed nightly on an unlit Afghanistan dirt strip, delivering 481 passengers and 970 short tons of equipment to assist a Marine unit, Task Force 58, according to Air Force news reports. The 437 AW is responsible for flying and maintaining the C-17 Globemaster III jet cargo aircraft, the newest aircraft in the AMC airlift system. Its mission is to command assigned airlift and supporting units; provide for the airlift of troops and passengers, military equipment, cargo and aeromedical airlift and to participate in operations involving the airland or airdrop of troops, equipment and supplies when required.
