Point Mugu VTUAV Det Art.

Celebrate the legacy of Vertical Takeoff and Landing Tactical Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (VTUAV) Maintenance Detachment, the home base for MQ-8C operations. Closing its doors in January 2026 after 12 years of service to both the MQ-8B (Schweizer 333) and MQ-8C (Bell 407) platforms, VTUAV was integral to the success of Firescout operations by Fleet Squadrons across the globe. The Vultures were located at sunny NBVC Point Mugu, with mountain and beach views side by side. This art magnifies the simple elegance and performance of the MQ - 8C in all her glory. This platform and detachment will be dearly missed!
