Diego Garcia - US Navy Seabees canvas

This poster is dedicated to my father, MSgt Andy Anderson, USAF (ret). He served in the Navy 'Seabees' before joining the Air Force (Air National Guard) and deployed to Diego Garcia, constructing the airfield that was used to launch strikes in Operations Desert Shield, Desert Storm, Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom. These Diego facilities that still stand today we're used by my brother, SrA Heath Anderson, when he deployed to Diego Garcia with the Oregon ANG Security Forces. -Nick, artist.
The U.S. Naval construction battalions 'Seabees' arrived in 1971 to begin construction on their largest peacetime project that took 11 years and cost $200 million. It now accommodates the Navy's largest ships and the biggest military cargo jets, proving invaluable thanks to the thousands of hardworking Seabees who helped build this strategic remote U.S. military facility. 'Can Do'
