The 104th Fighter Squadron is the one of America’s oldest National Guard units, celebrating 100 years as an organized flying unit in 2021. Operating from Martin State Airport (Warfield Air National Guard Base), Middle River, MD as part of the 175th Wing, the Fightin’ O’s have flown the A-10 Thunderbolt II Since 1980 and are the Air Force’s premier Close Air Support Squadron.

The 104th Fighter Squadron (104th FS) is part of the 175th Wing, Maryland Air National Guard and is based at Warfield Air National Guard Base just outside Baltimore, Maryland. The squadron has flown A-10's since September 1979 when they picked up brand new jets off the Fairchild assembly line in Hagerstown, Maryland. The "Fightin’ O’s" have conducted Close Air Support and Combat Search and Rescue missions in the A-10 over Bosnia, Afghanistan, Iraq, and Syria.
