Air Force Academy Glider Training – TG-10

Air Force Academy Glider Training – TG-10 poster art.

Members of the Silver Eagles share in the proud legacy of training professional aviators and, more importantly, helping develop officers of character for the United States Air Force. With over 16,000 training and competition sorties flown each year, the Air Force Academy’s Cadet Soaring Instructor Pilots teach fellow cadets the basics of flying and compete in regional and national advanced aerial and cross country competitions at the collegiate, national, and international levels.

The TG-10 is the military designation for the Blanik sailplanes used for basic flight training at the United States Air Force Academy. The Academy maintains an inventory of 21 TG-10s in three variants. The aircraft are flown by cadets and officers of the 94th Flying Training Squadron, 306th Flying Training Group, Nineteenth Air Force, Air Education and Training Command.
