This Travis AFB C-5 Galaxy poster is dedicated to the hard working men and women of the 22d and 312th Airlift Squadrons. The 22d Airlift Squadron is part of the 60th Air Mobility Wing at Travis Air Force Base, California. The 312th Airlift Squadron operates the massive C-5 Galaxy aircraft supporting the USAF global reach mission world wide. During World War II the 22d operations included paratroop drops within New Guinea as well as aerial transportation in the Pacific Theater. The 22d also participated in the Berlin Airlift in 1948 and aerial transportation in the Far East during the Korean War. Current missions include Operation Joint Endeavor, and continuing under Operations Joint Guardian and Joint Forge. The 312th Airlift Squadron is a USAF Reserve squadron, assigned to the 349th Operations Group, also stationed at Travis and is a unit of the active duty 22d Airlift Squadron, 60th Air Mobility Wing.
