“Portland Air National Guard Base, F-15C” vintage style military aviation travel poster art by – Squadron Posters!
As state militia units, the units in the Oregon Air National Guard are not in the normal United States Air Force chain of command. They are under the jurisdiction of the Governor of Oregon though the office of the Oregon Adjutant General unless they are federalized by order of the President of the United States. The Oregon Air National Guard is headquartered at the Oregon Military Department buildings in Salem, Oregon.
Portland Air National Guard Base is a United States Air Force base, located at Portland International Airport, Oregon. It is located 5.5 miles northeast of Portland, Oregon. The base is the home of the 142nd Fighter Wing (as of April 6th 2020, known as the “142nd Wing”), Oregon Air National Guard. The 142d Wing participates around the globe supporting drug interdiction, USAFE air defense, as well as contingency operations such as Operations Noble Eagle, Enduring Freedom, and Iraqi Freedom.
