The 345th Bomb Squadron (345 BS) is part of the 489th Bomb Group at Dyess AFB, TX. It operates the B-1B Lancer (better known as the Bone) supporting the United States Air Force global strike mission. Dyess is located in West Texas where cattle, oil and gas, and windmills are the major economic drivers. It’s the newest bomb squadron in the Air Force and the only B-1 squadron in the Air Force Reserve! Dyess Air Force Base is a United States Air Force base located approximately 7 miles southwest of Abilene, Texas. The host unit at Dyess is the 7th Bomb Wing (7 BW) assigned to the Air Combat Command Twelfth Air Force. Dyess AFB was established in 1942 as Abilene Army Air Base (AAB)
