The 517th Airlift Squadron “Firebirds” is part of the 3d Wing at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska and operates C-12 Huron and C-17 Globemaster III aircraft in the Pacific theater and provides tactical airlift supporting worldwide airlift, airdrop, and airland requirements.
