This Tactical Air Control Party (TACP) Poster is dedicated to the men and women who have served or are serving in the 13th Air Support Operations Squadron (13 ASOS) at Fort Carson Army Installation in Colorado Springs, Colorado. TACPs are Battlefield Airmen who deploy alongside their Army brethren for extended periods, controlling Close Air Support aircraft, and often engaging in direct combat against the enemy.
The 13th Air Support Operations Squadron at Fort Carson, Colorado, is part of the 93rd Air Ground Operations Wing. Its mission is to enhance the joint warfighter team by providing combat mission ready Airmen to advise, integrate and control air and space power in support of the 4th Infantry Division. The Squadron deploys Tactical Air Control Party (TACP) members worldwide in support of contingency operations, providing Joint Terminal Attack Controllers to destroy hostile threats the Army cannot destroy itself. Fort Carson, located on the south side of Colorado Springs, Colorado, is known as “The Mountain Post”. The Squadron call sign is “Gunslingers”.
