Michigan ANG 172nd Attack Squadron MQ-9

Michigan ANG 172nd Attack Squadron MQ-9 poster art.

The 172nd Attack Squadron is part of the 110th Attack Wing, stationed at Battle Creek Air National Guard Base (also know as Kellogg Air National Guard Base or W.K. Kellogg Field), in Battle Creek, Michigan as  part of the Michigan  Air National Guard.  They operated the A-10 Warthogs for many years but are now transitioning to MQ-9 Reapers.  Battle Creek is the home of Kellogg, and the world famous Battle Creek Sanitarium (now the Hart-Dole Inouye federal Building). They’ve had a few different nicknames over the years, with Cereal Killers” being the one that has stuck.

The Predator B (designated by the military as MQ-9 Reaper) is an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) capable of remote controlled or autonomous flight operations, developed by General Atomics Aeronautical Systems (GA-ASI) primarily for the United States Air Force. The MQ-9 and other UAVs are referred to as Remotely Piloted Vehicles/Aircraft (RPV/RPA) by the USAF to indicate their human ground controllers. The MQ-9 is the first hunter-killer UAV designed for long-endurance, high-altitude surveillance.
