The 173rd Air Refueling Squadron (173d ARS) is based at Lincoln Air National Guard Base (Lincoln Municipal Airport) in Lincoln, Nebraska and is a part of the 155th Air Refueling Wing. As the second oldest Air National Guard unit in the nation, the 155th ARW began as the 173rd Fighter Squadron in 1946 and has evolved in size and mission. Since 1992, the Wing has operated the Boeing KC-135 Stratotanker for Air Mobility Command and USSTRATCOM, providing logistical and mission support to Nuclear Deterrence, Global Reach mobility and Global Power missions across the globe. The squadron nickname is the “Hustlin’ Huskers”.
