Through the Ages – South Pacific

This vintage style military aviation travel poster “Through the Ages – South Pacific” artwork is dedicated to all those who served in the pacific in WWII.

The Pacific War, sometimes called the Asia-Pacific War, was the theater of World War II which was fought in the Pacific and East Asia. It was fought over a vast area which included the Pacific Ocean and islands, the South West Pacific, South-East Asia, and in China (including the 1945 Soviet–Japanese conflict).

The Grumman TBF Avenger (designated TBM for aircraft manufactured by General Motors) was a torpedo bomber developed initially for the United States Naval and Marine air services, and eventually used by several air and naval services around the world.

The Consolidated PBY Catalina was an American flying boat, and later an amphibious aircraft of the 1930s and 1940s produced by Consolidated Aircraft. It was one of the most widely used seaplanes of World War II. Catalinas served with every branch of the United States Armed Forces and in the air forces and navies of many other nations.
